Acquisition expands design and software development capabilities to accelerate development of highly automated and autonomous machines
DULUTH, GA – AGCO, a global manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment and precision farming technology, announced May 2 it acquired JCA Industries, a leader in developing autonomous farm machinery software, attachment controls and electronic system components.
JCA, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, specializes in electronic systems design and software development for automation and farm equipment control. JCA’s software products for path planning, sensor integration and remote control are used today by original equipment manufacturers. In addition, JCA serves some of the world’s leading agricultural equipment manufacturers as a supplier of electronic designs and software for the development of autonomous machines.
“The purchase of JCA is another important addition to our precision farming capabilities,” says Eric Hansotia, AGCO chairman, president and CEO. “JCA is one of the most advanced developers of autonomous vehicle technology for off-road OEMs, and this acquisition will accelerate AGCO’s delivery of machine automation and autonomous systems that improve farmer productivity.”
