A French mission is in Moldova to identify options that would make it easier for farmers to access water and irrigation systems.
The Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Bolea, discussed this topic with an expert from the French company BRL Ingénierie, which specializes in the use of water resources, the environment and land planning, Romain Vidal.
According to the agency, in carrying out the task of preparing a study to prepare a project for the development and modernization of the irrigation sector, the expert, together with other foreign specialists, makes a series of visits to the territory to assess the irrigation sector.
After that, the conclusions and proposals will be submitted to the French Development Agency, on the basis of which a feasibility study will be developed in this area.
The French Development Agency offers the necessary support for the process of adapting agriculture to climate change through financing and technical support tools from public and private actors. Thus, investment projects are being developed to encourage agricultural producers to use modern agricultural technologies based on irrigation.
